Thousands of African-Americans gather for family reunions
during National Black Family Month, set aside for Black
Americans to invest in their families as well as themselves.
This observance is held during the month of July, when Black
Americans widely hold family reunions. The focus of the
month is on participation in activities that enrich life:
family reunions, parents and children eating dinner
together, education, health issues, adoption, networking and
other events that help bring the family together as a
cohesive, productive unit. Learn more

Street Experience’s “One Giant Leap: 40th
Anniversary of Moon Landing” will mark the
historic event of mankind, commemorating the
Apollo 11 mission. The moon landing anniversary
events will run Thursday, July 16 through
Sunday, July 26 and include major headlining
concerts by Jefferson Starship and The 5th
Dimension.
The free headliner concerts will feature
Jefferson Starship on Saturday, July 18 at 9
p.m. on the 3rd Street Stage, and The 5th
Dimension on Saturday, July 25 at 9 p.m. on the
1st Street Stage.
