Dina Titus was
first elected to the Senate in 1988, and has served as Minority
Leader since 1992. In the Senate, Dina has never backed away
from a tough fight. People said she couldn't take on the
developers to save Red Rock Canyon. But she did. When it came time
to oppose the gaming industry to protect neighborhoods, Dina
stood with Nevada families. Last session, some
powerful interest groups were opposed to Dina's property tax
freeze, but she pursued it anyway, because it was the right thing
to do.
Dina earned a doctorate from
Florida State University and has been professor of political
science at UNLV since 1977, where she was named Teacher of the
Year and received the President's Medal for Service to Education.
