County of Denver and the seven
counties that encompass the
greater metro area. While the
main event will occur each night
at the Pepsi Center in downtown
Denver, hotel rooms,
restaurants, entertainment
venues and transportation
throughout the region will be
utilized to their highest
potential for the duration of
the week. Denver is no stranger
to hosting major national events
and has a proven track record of
playing both a successful and
gracious host to major national
events including World Youth Day
in 1993 and the Summit of Eight
in 1997. Your participation

golf activities for women during the PGA
Women’s Play Golf America Day, August 27
(Wednesday), from 5 – 8 pm. The free
event, coordinated by the UNLV PGA Golf
Management students, is open to women of
all ages and skill levels. The Women’s
PGA Play Golf America Day is being held
in conjunction with the PGA Fall Expo at
the Mandalay Bay Convention Center,
August 26-27. |

Celebrate the last holiday of the summer
by dancing to music performed by the
Carl Grove Combo on Saturday, Aug. 30,
from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Charleston
Heights Arts Center's air-conditioned
ballroom. The combo's play list includes
favorite songs from the 1940s to ‘70s,
from swing and foxtrots to Latin and
jazz.
The arts center, which features one of
the city's finest dance floors, is
located at 800 S. Brush St., one block
west of Decatur and north of West
Charleston Boulevard. Tickets are $10 in
advance or $12 on performance day. The
dance is presented by the Arts &
Community Events Division of the city of
Las Vegas Department of Leisure
