Carol Lane Patterson, a freelance writer since 1998, contributes movie
reviews as well as coverage of film festivals, conventions and seminars to
various print and online media. A resident of Las Vegas since 1965,
Carol is a phi kappa phi graduate of the UNLV Geology department. Her
career spans three decades and as many professions: middle-management
in zoological & museum exhibition, homebuilding & mortgage banking,
(ultimately as a consultant), and now as a writer, also refining her
own interests, one non-fiction and several fiction works. She feels
very connected to the Las Vegas community, advocating volunteerism as
