Dan Marino,
the famous football player, opened his restaurant, aptly named Dan Marino's,
at Hooters Hotel and Casino when the property debut in 2006. Dan Marino's is
a combination of casual yet upscale dining with good food, an atmosphere
that tailors itself to either a group of friends getting together or a
romantic meal, and is a quiet interlude in a rambunctious casino. It
achieves all of this plus it is opened 24 hours a day. This is quite a
unique place. So let's tell you right now that Dan Marino's is NOT a sports
bar. What Dan says on his website about his restaurants (both in Las Vegas
and Miami) is, “"Welcome to Dan Marino's Fine Food and Spirits. Inventive
recipes, a cosmopolitan decor, a seasoned staff and a full-time chef ensure
an afternoon or evening of first class dining entertainment at Marino's. And
like Dan himself, we're dedicated to giving our guests a legendary
experience, so your
comments
are always welcome. In the meantime, please enjoy your visit today and be
sure to stop by one of our fine restaurants very soon." Dan Marino’s lives
up to it promise in every way.
Hooters
Hotel and Casino is a very fun and loud place with music, cheering, laughter
and a party atmosphere. But when you walk into the foyer of Dan Marino's, it
is like there is a bubble of some sort. It is not that anyone makes you
uncomfortable but more like you have a place to go for a change before
joining the festivities again. There is a piano in the foyer and you can
either go to the full service bar or be seated immediately. There are booths
in plush leather designed like love seats, so you and your date can site
very close. There are “regular” booths if you like comfort and tables for
groups. The lighting is soft without being low, and you really can hear
yourself speak and listen to others who have joined you.
The food is
very American and very filling. The 24-hour restaurant, known for its “all
you can eat ribs,” has added some seafood entrees. During lunch hours, a
tilapia fish sandwich will be featured. On the dinner menu, Ahi Tuna and
Mahi Mahi have been added. There are great starters along with salads,
steaks, chops and desserts. I personally believe that Dan Marino's has the
BEST Appletini (with a melted sour apple Jolly Roger candy on the bottom)
and they have added even more specialty drinks from martini blends to
cosmopolitans.
What was
originally just a weekend service is now available seven days a week.
Recently, Dan Marino’s 24-hour Dining introduced the weekend buffet. That
buffet is now offered from 7am to 1pm with the cost is just $9.95 per
person. Dan Marino’s 24-hour dining also offers 25 cent wings from midnight
to 6am. Now all patrons will be able to indulge in the world-famous and
authentic Hooters Chicken Wings at a fantastic price day or night. I have
to warn you, there is a minimum 10 piece order and you must dine in (oh
DARN).
