M. Margo Wheeler,
AICP,
joined the city of Las Vegas Planning & Development Department in
2001 and was appointed director in 2005 by the Las Vegas City
Council.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from
UCLA and her Masters in Urban and Regional Studies from the
University of Southern California.
As Las Vegas is the fastest
growing city in the nation, Ms. Wheeler’s 24 years of planning
experience in California and Nevada have served the city well.
Under her leadership, the planning department is watching the city
literally “grow up” as mixed-use high-rise developments become
abundant throughout the downtown area.
Under Ms. Wheeler’s
direction, new ordinances have been written to accommodate the
increasing development within the city, as well as preserve the
small town feel and historical perspective for residents.
