The Vegas Insider all began over a year ago on local radio station KNUU- 970 AM.  Since that time, host, Carol Kahn has evolved to doing television segments and is building a brand for web content.

“I found my niche!” says Carol.  “I absolutely love talking to people about their lives.  It is so amazing to me, that I move to Las Vegas, and all the things I wanted to do in my career is coming to fruition!”

Carol has interviewed celebrities such as Lorraine Bracco, Sylvester Stallone, Dave Navarro, Ice T, Donny Osmond, Jason Alexander, John O’Hurly as well as athletes such as Steve Bartkowski, former quarterback for Atlanta Falcons, Dr. J, and Sugar Ray Leonard.  The list goes on! Ms. Kahn says, she hopes it will never stop there.  “Everyone has a story,” she says.  “It is so much fun trying to uncover who these people really are! To hear their stories and really get the inside scoop! Her favorite local celebrities include Clint Holmes, Gordie Brown, The Scintas, and Rita Rudner.  Her very first interview on her show, “The Vegas Insider,” was with radio personality, Rick Dees.

The Vegas Insider is not about gossip.  It’s talking to people about what matters most in their lives. It’s about their story! A celebrity may share their most challenging moment. A motivational speaker may give people insight on how to change their lives, and a musician may talk about how escaping from Cuba and following his dream, led to two Grammy nominations.  Whatever the story, there is usually an emotional moment that happens during the interview.  “There have been times where I am brought to tears, hearing a story that my guest will tell.  They are sitting across from me, recalling a moment in their lives, with tears in their eyes.”  It becomes so emotional that we have to stop and take five!”

The host, Carol Kahn, has an extensive background in media.  She has worked in TV News in Washington D.C. She produced feature segments for “PM Magazine” in North Carolina, which gained national attention, and produced documentaries for an NBC affiliate.  She switched her focus to Radio Sales and Management, where she gained a keen sense of marketing her client’s products and services – which launched her career.  She became a Director of Sales in three markets of a radio group that brought her here to Las Vegas.  Recently, she was offered a position at KNEWS 970 AM, in Las Vegas where she created “The Vegas Insider.”

“My hope is to talk to people and find out what’s really important in their lives.  During every show, I will inevitably ask the proverbial question, “Give me the inside scoop on….” Without a doubt, each person will open up and tell me some information that has not been disclosed.  It’s a fun part of the show, because you never know what someone will say!”  “I want people who listen to the program, feel like they are eavesdropping in on a conversation that I am having with my guest,” says, Ms. Kahn.   

Vegas Insider is a combination of Larry King meets Oprah Winfrey.  Topics will range from entertainment to sports, from business to medical and even cover current events.  Carol’s unique style is to really get to know her guests, allowing them to feel comfortable enough to share their story.  “It’s all about knowing what’s really important to them, and giving them the chance to express their feelings.  It’s not about exploiting their lives.  Every person I speak to has a unique story to tell. I am genuinely interested in what they have to say,” says Ms. Kahn.  “I love to surprise my guests, with at least one piece of information I uncovered about them, and they have no idea how I got it!  I guess that’s what makes me - The Vegas Insider!”
