Is there ART in Las Vegas? U BET!

We are all saddened by the closing of the GUGGENHEIM Museum and the LAS VEGAS ART MUSEUM, so it would seem the art movement has taken another step backwards in our City of (ARTS? and) Entertainment. However, it has not!

The declining support of many benefactors and government funds will never stop the fine art movement, never has and never will! Artists keep creating, advocates, activists and very passionate enthusiasts, will continue to push forward, and strive to make a cultural presence available to the public.

One of our newest arrivals, Natasha Young, COO & Director of the WHITE SQUARE GALLERY, in the trendy west side Boca Park, is taking up the slack. Natasha, is from the Ukraine and studied at the Kiev State University of Culture there. White Square is celebrating their First year’s Anniversary next Friday, April 10th. The public is invited and I recommend a visit.

Natasha is living up to her motto: “CRISIS will come and go, but ART –ART is forever”!

White Square’ sister Gallery in Berlin, Germany has formulated a Euro-American union to BRIDGE the two galleries by showcasing a trade off of European artists here, and American artist’s abroad.

The new exhibit “BEAUTY IS THE NEW PUNK” really caught my attention because; I never associated PUNK with BEAUTY! Quite the contrary. In the art world, we were always taught that impressionism was beautiful! I suppose the times are really changing…BERLIN, being the new capital of contemporary artworks, is setting the pace, with well known mixed media artists, that will be on display at this exhibition.

Mixed Media artists from Germany, UK, Switzerland, Rumania and Netherlands on exhibit!

The gallery space itself is comparable to a San Francisco/ New York style atmosphere with large walls to sport this very unique and colorful array of new works. This prominent location includes an upstairs venue to showcase some local and California artists like Enrique Neverez, Jr., Karen Wallo and Otterbach.

Natasha, is so passionate about ART, Las Vegas, and the Gallery, we welcome her with open arms and hope for support of this very progressive and exciting venture in our community. Being the first of its kind, a European influence in Las Vegas, can only help keep us up on the world stage, as an Art Mecca.

Hope to see you at the reception!
