Greetings From the High Seas

Here
we are, lots of us, on a Western Caribbean cruise. It is, imagine this - a poker
cruise! Using the Internet is costing me a small fortune so this will be some
quick cruise notes. First and most important, there have been four poker
tournaments and three of the winners are FEMALE! And no, we do not outnumber the
men. Well, we did in the Ladies tournament, but I'll get to that. Guess who won
the biggest tournament yet - drum roll, please - ME! I have to tell you, I was
thrilled. Not just for the cash but mostly for the custom made championship
watch. First of all, it's huge - they certainly didn't think they would need a
"ladies style". It has "Poker "Royale Card Casino" (They sponsored this poker
cruise) on the face, the card suites, three poker chips with different timing
devices and two aces. LOVE IT! Will never wear it, but it will go on display in
my home. I also placed third in one of the events so far, so good on scoring.
The funniest thing: Joe Pane and Doralee "Lady Pink" Rae made a prop bet: If he
came in drag to the Ladies event and lasted three levels, then Doralee had to
play the next tournament in her bathing suit. If he lost, he had to go the rest
of the day and have dinner in drag. He made a pretty cute gal and got a lot of
laughs. D. lost the bet, but it paid off for her as most of the men were off
their game as she played the next tournament half naked. Yes, she scored, fifth,
I believe.
So .......... we're having a great time and it has been profitable. Lots of
pictures when I get home. Yes, pictures of Joe in drag also!
Bon Voyage
I have been busy packing. Where to now? You ask. Leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again ... you have to be of a certain age to get that. Really, flying out tomorrow for Ft. Lauderdale, FL and then Sat. I'll be boarding the Carnival Freedom for a Western Caribbean cruise.
Last fall at
Pendleton, I was thrilled when I won a championship. And then I
was double thrilled to win the icing on that cake, the silver
Wildhorse
championship bracelet and
triple thrilled when I discovered the
icing on the bracelet cake was a poker cruise! We'll be at sea for nine days and
ports of call are Cozumel, Mexico,
Limon, Costa Rica, and Colon, Panama.
Joining me will be Hermie,
Doralee "Lady Pink", Sassy, Bonnie,
and Tonia, along with all the other
passengers and poker players. I don't
think I will get lonely or bored with this crew!
I promise to try and blog from sea. If I get too busy having fun and winning
money, I promise to blog as soon as I get home.
Bon
Voyage!
